            Ode to a Cheshire
                By: Drago

What do you think when you see my grin?
Do you think me happy?
Do you think me mad?

Tis the burden of the grinning fool to always grin;
TO have a smile on your face even as your world falls apart.

For if the fool wears a frown then the world grows angry;
For the fool must always grin for others,
And must never frown in her own pain.

The Chishire is seen by the world as not but a grinning fool;
A mad grinning fool who spouts nonseanse for a laugh;
Who's words are never taken as truth and always as a joke,
Who's tears must never fall unless from a laugh.

So, pity the fool, the Cheshire;
Who must hide her pain for the world;
Who must always laugh or be alone...

What do you think when you see my grin?
Do you think me happy?
Do you think me mad?
I wrote this back in June when my marriage started to fall apart and a few people kept telling me "Cheshires don't frown! They are happy all the time!"

Yea... bite me.
